THE WELL share socially-distanced "Sabbah" live performance video via Metal Injection

"Their most intimate, darkly personal record yet... Taking them out of the doom corner and giving it a raw, post-punk feel. "Raven" sounds like a Satanic, downtuned Steppenwolf, and frankly we can’t get enough." -- Kerrang!

"An intoxicating mix of stoner metal and occultist rock -- it’s dark n’ doomy, sure, but it’s also as catchy as fly paper coated in industrial strength glue." -- Metal Sucks

Austin trio The Well share a new "live in quarantine" video for "Sabbah" via Metal Injection from their powerful third album Death and Consolation. Watch and share "Sabbah" HERE. (Direct  YouTube.)

About the video:

During a global pandemic, an American political revolt and a new world in quarantine, one has to consider fresh ways to view the production of videos and making and performing music in unchartered territory, unlike anything this generation has seen before. The Well tackled just that when faced with creating a video for their single "Sabbah" from their most recent release Death and Consolation. With a limited time frame and social distancing in full effect, The Well had to get creative, channeling a psychedelic dark experience through a very different means. Each member of the band (Ian Graham on guitar, Jason Sullivan on drums, and Lisa Alley on bass) recorded their parts individually with sound engineer, TV's Daniel, masked up in their practice space in Austin, Texas.

The next night, on a small outdoor set, each band member filmed their respective video parts solo, joined only by TV's Daniel as masked director and videographer. The scenes were then inter-woven together into a mesmerizing smokey psychedelic dreamscape using 3 cameras and projector lights to reconstruct the group experience. All said and done, this live version of "Sabbah" was recorded, mixed, shot and edited in a three day quarantine time turnaround, resulting in a unique and experimental piece of work that encapsulates the energy of The Well's live performance, despite being surrounded by nothing but uncertainty and detachment in the world around them.

About the band's most recent album:

Death and Consolation is without a doubt a weighty album title. And, The Well is among the heaviest heavy psych bands in existence. So when we say that there's even more darkness and intensity to the band's third album than previous efforts, take heed. It's a deep sea diving bell of enveloping heaviness and longing.

"This one is a little more personal," says guitarist/vocalist Ian Graham. "2018 was a strange, dark year. A lot of change going on in my life, there was a lot of depression and coming out of it over the last year. I wanted to call this Death and Consolation, because in life that's a constant."

While The Well continue to walk an intriguing line between authentic early 70s doom/heavy psych and frayed weirdness of dark folk - especially with their haunting unison male/female vocals - the new album also adds the stark vibe of post-punk acts like Joy Division and early The Cure. "I feel like this album is almost more gothic. We're big fans of post-punk," Graham says. There's also much less jamming, the songs are tight and concise. And, did we mention, heavy? The band tuned down a full step to C-standard tuning for this album, which gives the proceedings its monstrous sound.

Sonically, Death and Consolation picks up where The Well -- Graham, bassist/vocalist Lisa Alley and drummer Jason Sullivan -- left off with their widely heralded 2016 RidingEasy album Pagan Science. The band once again recorded with longtime producer/engineer Chico Jones at Estuary Studio in 2018, who has turned the knobs for all three of their albums (Jones engineered the band's debut album Samsara with producer Mark Deutrom [Melvins, Sunn0)))] in 2013.) Samsara, released late September 2014 was ranked the #1 debut album of 2014 by The Obelisk and Pagan Science among the Best of 2016 from the Doom Charts collective. Likewise, the band's intense -- some even say "possessed" -- live performances have earned them featured slots at Austin's Levitation Fest, as well as tours with Kadavar, All Them Witches, Black Tusk and more.

"This album might be a little less produced, because I didn't want to push technical stuff as much," Graham says. "I'm so scared of getting too complicated when getting better at guitar. This is still kind of punk rock."

Yardsss ∅∀‡ share first track from forthcoming album Cultus via Treble

"Yardsss tends toward the dark and droning and bombastic, with heady, swelling orchestrations. It doesn't take many listens to understand that Krueger is breaking boundaries not for the sake of being (or seeming) transgressive, but to make sounds that awaken actual feelings -- uplifting, inspiring emotions." -- Portland Mercury

"Soaring drone noise and melody as cacophony reminiscent of late-80s/early-90s SWANS, Emeralds and Popul Vuh." -- New Noise Magazine

"A weird mix of Swans, post-rock, and orchestral music. It's not nearly as harsh or abrasive as No Wave or other experimental noise or drone projects, but it definitely has elements from those genres." -- Heavy Blog Is Heavy

"Extended improvisational pieces that prominently feature drones, dissonance and an ominous aura, bringing to mind the epic and eerie sounds of Godspeed You! Black Emperor or the no wave symphonies of Glenn Branca. It’s at times chaotic, beautiful and overwhelming." -- Treble

Portland, OR band Yardsss ∅∀ -- ethereal music brainchild of Southerly and Sndtrkr leader Krist Krueger -- share the first track from their forthcoming new album Cultus today via TrebleZine. Hear and share "Cultus II" HERE. (Direct Bandcamp.)

The album is performed in the full trio lineup of the band, Paul Schaefer, Robin Levy and Krist Krueger.

The first two Yardsss releases, the Foma EP (2013) and Granfalloons EP (2016) were masterpieces of sonic effluvium, walking the fine line between abrasive noise and gorgeous, sometimes cacophonous melody inviting comparisons to Swans, Glenn Branca, White Suns and Godspeed Y!BE. Later efforts like the collaborative 333 (2016) and musical stream-of-consciousness Epithets (2017) explore conceptual themes of text as well as lineup. With the newly solidified delineation of Yardsss varying entities, Krueger and interlopers are free to expand upon ideas as they arise without fear of confusing fans.

Krueger is best known for his work with Southerly, whose 2007 debut Storyteller and the Gossip Columnist was met to national critical acclaim. His collective-run label, SELF Group, began a major relaunching in late 2015, with new releases from likeminded outfits Southerly, Mothertapes, King Who, C^VES, Swansea, Scriptures and more.

Cultus will be available on September 11, 2020 via SELF Group. Pre-orders are available HERE

LEWIS (ex-The Kinison) album out now, "ringing power-pop hooks"

"Spotlights Lewis' particular blend of humor, incisive observation and ability to create an unlikely but undeniable hook. Think of a sweeter Guided By Voices or songs where power-punk clichés are muted for the sake of the song." -- PopMatters

L.A. multi-instrumentalist Christopher Lee Lewis, with the nom-de-tune LEWIS, releases his solo debut full length Son On The Floor today via Sona Baby Records. Ghost Cult Magazine gave an early preview of the album yesterday HERE. Hear & share Son On The Floor via Bandcamp, Spotify and Apple Music

Starting on drums from the age of four, Christopher has been involved in a number of groups since ranging from the mellow pop-rock group, Pioneers, to signer-songwriter acoustic duo Canada.

Throughout Christopher's career, he has recorded several studio full-lengths, three EPs and one live album. His 2019 EP LEWIS, released through his own Sona Baby Records, is the first release to showcase his musical talent across all instruments. Christopher's Mom said: "It's his best drumming since 1987!"

LEWIS recorded the forthcoming full-length album at fabled studio Dave's Room in Los Angeles with Grammy nominated engineer/producer Paul Fig, for release in 2020. A prolific artist, he's been known to write up to thirty songs in a weekend.

R.I.P. share title track from forthcoming album 'Dead End' (RidingEasy Records) - New sound, new lineup

"A disgusting, punk-rock-meets-Black Sabbath shredder that's going to leave a film of filth on any speaker that has the misfortune to output its gnarly sounds." -- Metal Injection

"R.I.P. find a place for '80s and early '90s nostalgia that's not overblown would-be glam or retro-minded thrash, but would nonetheless fit well on a bill next to Slayer during their big-hair days, despite the obvious sonic discrepancies." -- The Obelisk

"Heavy, dirty, filthy rock n’ roll... Dead End is going to catch you in its strong, hairy arms and soothe you with murder in its eyes!" -- CvltNation

Portland, OR 'Street Doom' quartet R.I.P. share the title track to their forthcoming third album Dead End today via CvltNation. Hear and share the track "Dead End" HERE. (Direct Bandcamp and YouTube.)

Metal Injection previously hosted the lead single "Out of Time" HERE. (Direct YouTube.)

When R.I.P. came crawling out of the sewers of Portland, OR four years ago, their grimy, sleazy Street Doom was already a fully formed monstrosity that quickly infected the minds of everyone it encountered. At the time, none of us expected its depravity to take such fierce hold, and yet, here were are, sheltering in place and/or stealthily creeping through a nightmare dystopia that the 80s sci-fi/horror movies foretold.

Dead End is, ironically, a recharge of the band's sound, bearing influences ranging from John Carpenter films, post-apocalyptic grunge, pro-wrestling attitude and salty lo-fi hip-hop aesthetics to the band's ferocious heavy metal.

During the three years since the 2017 release of their sophomore album Street Reaper, R.I.P. has been busy tightening their sound and their line up while loosening their grip on sanity - touring the west coast with bands like Electric Wizard and Red Fang, and taking Street Doom overseas for the first time for a month long headlining tour of Europe. These years on the road and the addition of a more aggressive rhythm section have allowed the band to fully break free from their influences and deliver on the promise hinted at on their first two releases.

For Dead End, R.I.P. worked with legendary producer Billy Anderson, interring onto wax their heaviest and most ambitious album yet. Continuing to move further away from their classic doom influences like Pentagram and Saint Vitus, the band offers a rare blast of originality in a scene rife with formulaic bands. Dead End is a fast and anxious ride where the very idea of doom is put to the test under duress of manic lyrics about death, insanity, and leather, and hook-laden guitar tracks that draw as equally from Nirvana as Black Sabbath.

Dead End will be available on LP, CD and download on October 9th, 2020 via RidingEasy Records

Death Wheelers share in-studio performance video from upcoming album on RidingEasy Records

"Somehow even crustier than they were on their debut album. The track spans everything from revved-up shred to sludgy breakdowns alongside a bikesploitation-meets-Escape-from-NY-style music video." -- Metal Injection

"A trip down depravity lane that you won’t forget any time soon." -- CvltNation

Canadian heavy rock instrumentalists The Death Wheelers share a live in-studio performance video for their new single from their forthcoming album Divine Filth today via Heavy Blog Is Heavy. Watch and share "Ditchfinder General" HERE. (Direct YouTube and Bandcamp.)

Metal Injection recently premiered the video for the title track, which serves as the trailer for a fictional 80s sci-fi/horror film HERE. CvltNation recently hosted "Corps Morts" single HERE

From beyond the gutter, The Death Wheelers bring you their second album, the soundtrack to the fictional bikesploitation flick that never was: Divine Filth. Drawing inspiration from instrumental rock, proto-metal, punk and funk, the band embalms the listener in their sonic world of decay, groove and debauchery. Surfing the line between Motörhead, The Cramps and Dick Dale, the Canadian quartet uncompromisingly blends rawness and power in their riff fueled compositions. Recorded entirely in 48 hours in a live setting just like in the good old days, this second opus is a testament to what the band stands for: a no BS attitude spiked with a heavy layer of crass. Just like their previous offering, the album is devised to serve as a soundtrack loosely based on a plot synopsis of a B-movie:

It's 1982. Spurcity is run-down. The crime rate is up and so is drug use. A new kind of kick has hit the streets and it ain't pretty. DTA, a powerful and highly addictive hallucinogenic drug, is transforming its loyal citizens into undead trash. Its users experience an indescribable high, but it leaves them rotting away within days, craving human flesh. No one knows who is dealing this new potent drug, but rumour has it that the motorcycle cult, The Death Wheelers, is behind this concoction. Could this be the end of civilization as we know it? What is motivating this group of psychotic individuals?

The cycle of violence indeed continues with this sordid slab of sounds. So hop on, and enjoy one last ride with The Death Wheelers.

L.A. Desert Rock vets All Souls share new single from forthcoming album via Revolver Magazine

"All Souls appear to model everything based on a simple motto: be efficient and alluring." -- New Noise

"They only sound heavier and more powerful now than they did two years ago." -- Brooklyn Vegan

Los Angeles quartet All Souls share a new single from their forthcoming sophomore album Songs for the End of the World today via Revolver Magazine. Hear and share "Twilight Times" HERE. (Direct Bandcamp.)

A stunning animated video for album track "You Just Can't Win" was released earlier this year. Watch the dark portents via YouTube. Brooklyn Vegan recently premiered lead single "Winds" HERE

All Souls formed in Los Angeles in the winter of 2016 and have gone from playing local gigs to performing in theaters and arenas. Featuring Tony Tornay (Fatso Jetson, Josh Homme's Desert Sessions, Deep Dark Robot with Linda Perry) Antonio Aguilar and Meg Castellanos (Totimoshi) and Erik Trammell (Black Elk), they were recently hand-picked to tour with Tool, The Jesus Lizard, (the)MELVINS, and Meat Puppets.

All Souls creates songs that are lyrically dark, infused with the band's unique style and perspective on the state of today's world. Their music has been described as intelligent, majestic, exciting and original. They are unafraid to bridge into big open spaces discovering new wastelands; ultimately stepping from dark to light.

Throughout 2016, the quartet -- Aguilar [vocals, guitar], Castellanos [bass, vocals], Trammell [guitar], and Tornay [drums] -- recorded what would become their self-titled full-length debut, All Souls, during intermittent sessions at Sound of Sirens Studio in Los Angeles with producer Toshi Kasai known for his work with Tool, Foo Fighters and (the) MELVINS.

Following tours with the likes of Red Fang, The Sword, Kvelertak, and Torche, the band released All Souls in 2018 via Sunyata -- the label founded by iconic Screaming Trees and Mad Season drummer Barrett Martin. Earmarked by Spaghetti Western-style expanse and rough-and-tumble riffing, the music proudly bears the wild wear-and-tear of the nineties Palm Desert scene with a twist of psychedelic voodoo and metallic edge.

For Aguilar and Castellanos, the music spoke to a dormant primal need that harked back to their time in the fan favorite underground mainstay Totimoshi.

All Souls just-completed second album which they recorded in 2019, Songs for the End of the World, reunites them with Kasai. This follow-up recording is an evolution for the band. Aguilar's distinctive vocals are at times lyrically bleak and deeply personal, set against a musical backdrop that challenges listeners with inventive songwriting and ethereal melodies. Tornay's explosive drumming matched with Trammell's innovative guitar and Castellanos' low end and feminine back-up vocals lend to their power and unique approach. One could say they are connecting the dots between Led Zeppelin to the Pixies, Soundgarden to the Cure all the while carving their own road with authenticity.

Songs for the End of the World will be available on LP, CD and digital on October 2nd, 2020. Pre-orders are available HERE

Melted Bodies share "Funny Commercials" single from forthcoming full length debut 'Enjoy Yourself'

"Throw David Lynch in the pit of a 2020 grind show and the noise that it makes might resemble Melted Bodies... The soundtrack to a radioactive spaghetti western where everyone's throwing up." -- Kerrang

"Like a Dali painting come to life, the music is surreal and unpredictable." -- Ghost Cult

Los Angeles quartet Melted Bodies share a new single from their forthcoming debut album Enjoy Yourself today via Ghost Cult Magazine. Hear and share "Funny Commercials and The Five Week Migraine" HERE. (Direct Bandcamp and Spotify.)

Earlier this year, the band released their insanely clever video for their single "Ad People." The hilarious video spoofs our vapid Internet content spewing culture and is available to watch and share on YouTube.

About Melted Bodies:

Melted Bodies creates music for people to propel their limitless potential. We aim to inspire a can-do attitude that's culturally relevant, relatable, safe, and accessible to everyone. Instead of breaking boundaries, let's shatter them into a million mobile-friendly pieces, together. Motion creates emotion, and emotion creates content that challenges our core cultural influencers in our ever-increasingly connected world.

These are all ideas and themes that we can leverage and take advantage of in the new media democracy. We are here to target influencer content and engage media partners through collective storytelling and game-changing ideas. Autonomous social media helps drive peer to peer authentic engagements that can be tracked and measured to create augmented experiences which can then be leveraged to connect human truths. Our aim is to pander to the needs and wants of these global progressive influencers and pander we will.
