Greek rockers BUS premiere "Into The Night" via Revolver Magazine from forthcoming RidingEasy Records debut

"A fantastic combination of crazy fun rock that also happens to be stupid catchy." -- Metal Injection

"BUS is pure rock'n'roll through and through, conjuring up influences that range from Judas Priest to Deep Purple to Sabbath to prog in a way that is decidedly old school and familiar, but never straight-up derivative." -- Revolver Magazine

"The what-if-the-Beatles-were-also-Primus-but-Primus-were-the-Melvins-and-also-Kyuss-is-there-because-that's-fun bounce of "I Buried Paul."...(BUS) confidently deliver hooks that are non-overbearing earworms -- the kinds of songs you don't realize are in your head until they already are." -- The Obelisk

Athens, Greece quartet Bus The Unknown Secretary (aka BUS) premiere a new track from their forthcoming album on RidingEasy Records today via Revolver Magazine. Hear and share "Into The Night" HERE. (Direct YouTube.)

Metal Injection recently shared the stomping anthem "You Better Come In, You Better Calm Down" HERE. (Direct YouTube.) The Obelisk recently shared "I Buried Paul" HERE. (Direct YouTube.)

From the opening notes of Never Decide, you'll know it's going to be a wild funhouse ride. It doesn't sound like just four people, it sounds like a mob of wild-eyed lunatics on the expressway to your skull. And, you're not gonna know what the band's name means, don't worry about it.

Heavy bands typically don't know how to make music fun. We're not talking about goofy, novelty rock, which BUS certainly is not. We're talking clever, spirited and anthemic rock that doesn't get bogged down in trying to sound menacing. Never Decide is a multifaceted album in the vein of classic hitters like The Hellacopters, Alice Cooper Band, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Orange Goblin

"The story of the album expresses the psyche of a person in a dead end and his life is introduced into obsessive rhythms, more personal and random," explains vocalist/guitarist Bill Politis. "There is no happy end here, but the questions remain: Door A or Door B? Time to change or time to die, Never Decide!"

The album opens as if we're in the studio with the band listening to playback for the first time. There's a chirping test tone and someone starts counting in, "one, two, three..." before it suddenly grinds to a halt. Then suddenly the swirling guitar riff of the pummeling anthem "You Better Come In, You Better Calm Down" launches everything into the stratosphere. The guitars march in lockstep as swinging drums keep it all rolling at furious pace as the vocal chant of the song's title grows into a massive group chant in harmony. Think Uriah Heep's "Easy Livin'" meets Kiss' "Rock and Roll All Night" -- here's another big, blazing anthem for the ages. "I Buried Paul" is the sort of fun, theatrical album track no one makes anymore, not since the days of the Alice Cooper Band. "Lucifer" takes things several shades darker, turning in a dramatic ballad launched by haunting piano chords and led by sinister, sneering vocals sounding something like Ozzy meets Johnny Rotten slowly building to its epic conclusion in double time with rinigng harmony guitar leads. "Evil Eyes" and "Moonchild" return the proceedings to the anthemic, pop-laced vibe, replete with major-minor chord shifts and vocal/guitar harmonies galore.

Never Decide was recorded in just 5 days in February 2018 with multitalented engineer and band's beloved friend John Vulgaris at Electric Highway Studios in Athens, Greece. The entire band -- drummer Aris Fasoulis, bassist Spiros Papadatos, and guitarists Fotis Kolokithas and Politis --recorded the instrumental tracks live in 3 days, reserving the last 2 for vocals. Over the 2 months that followed Vulgaris and the band fine-tuned the mix into the subtle and clever masterwork you have before you.

BUS formed in Athens in 2011, releasing two EPs and a full length The Impious Tapes, followed by The Cross EP (2014), and The Unknown Secretary LP in 2016. During that time the band has toured extensively throughout Greece and in neighboring nations. The release of Never Decide will see them expanding that touring radius considerably.

Never Decide will be available on LP, CD and download on March 1st, 2019 via RidingEasy Records. Pre-orders are available HERE

Valentine's darkness: Quin Galavis streaming album Victim/Non-Victim early, Austin songwriter's 1st of 3-album series for 2019

"A record marked by ache and vulnerability, heartbreak and regret. The music is sometimes dreamy, sometimes noisy and shoegazey, and often veers into the realm of power pop, but coming from an artist in search of healing. It’s fun to listen to, yet deeply affecting." -- TrebleZine

"Jam of the Week: Are you ready for an urgent jam that will get all up in your brain and will live rent free?" -- CvltNation

"An emotionally-charged vocal over a musical setting that recalls Guided By Voices at its most exhilarating... Galavis takes us on an emotional and musical journey that doesn't provide easy answers or easy ways out." -- PopMatters

Austin, TX songwriter Quin Galavis is streaming in its entirety his forthcoming album Victim / Non-Victim, Pt. 1 today via TrebleZine. Hear and share Victim / Non-Victim, Pt. 1 HERE. (Direct Soundcloud.)

PopMatters recently shared the heart wrenching "Our Loved Ones" HERE. And, Galavis shared an eerie POV video for the lead single "Burn The Room" via CvltNation. Watch & share HERE. (Direct YouTube.)

Quin Galavis returns February 15th with another brilliant album of emotionally raw and revealing music that deftly leaps between heavy experimentalism and catchy melodies. Victim / Non-Victim, Pt. 1 launches a 3-album series to be released throughout 2019 on Super Secret Records

"This record I wrote after an intense period in my life," Quin explains. "I decided to approach this record as a way to confront all the things that created the feelings and characters in my double album My Life In Steel And Concrete and in the process confront all the things that has driven me to art and self destruction, so where MLISAC was expressing a sense of uncertainty and resignation, this record is truly a way to find out why I am the way I am and what abuses I have been through and the abuse I deliver on others. So, I am going to have to spread it out in three records! These records aren't just going to be a cathartic thing like MLISAC, but more as a purge of my old life and finally a reset."

The album includes many wonderful eclectic players on the songs; Graham Low (A Giant Dog), Victor Gutierrez (Impalers,Vaaska), Natalie Ribbons (TeleNovella, Agent Ribbons), Jason Chronis (Voxtrot, TeleNovella), Jenny Arthur (Lung Letters, The Dead Space) and many more.

Quin Galavis has built a strong reputation for producing a variety of high quality music via acclaimed
bands including Nazi Gold and The Dead Space, and through his previous solo work. Unpredictable and experimental from record to record and from live performance to live performance, Quin Galavis continues to challenge himself and his audience to reconsider and subvert what it means to be an artist and musician.

Victim / Non-Victim, Pt. 1 will be available on LP, CD and download on February 15th, 2019 via Super Secret Records.

Woolly Bushmen share first track from upcoming album via PopMatters, blazing garage soul R&B trio announces 3rd album 'In Shambles'

"Kicks like a mule, grooves like vintage shambolic garage rock and kills with the in-your-face attitude of Jerry Lee Lewis. Ultimately, this trio takes listeners on a wild and thrilling ride, during which band and fan alike stand at the precipice of order and chaos, the very intersection that defines rock 'n' roll." -- PopMatters

Garage rock trio The Woolly Bushmen share the lead track from their forthcoming 3rd album today via PopMatters. Hear and share "What Yer Doin' To Me" HERE. (Direct Soundcloud and YouTube.)

Formed in early 2011 and based out of Winter Park, Florida, The Woolly Bushmen have managed to combine 1960's rock and roll with 1950's rockabilly and a dash of soul, forming their own unique genre of all original crowd-rocking songs. These young musicians have captured the respect and admiration of seasoned musicians, some icons in their own right, that are twice their age while grabbing every audience by the scruff of their necks and whipping them into a dance frenzy. Teenagers, middle-agers, old-agers, male, female, black, white, green, purple, The Woolly Bushmen tend to appeal to everyone without compromising their style and musical integrity...mass appeal without losing cult appeal...they do their thing and it works! Audience comments run from, "where did this band come from!?", "how did we not know about them before!?", "These guys have IT!", and very often, "the best band I've seen!"

A typical Woolly Bushmen show will see lead singer, Simon Palombi, switch from vintage Farfisa organ to guitar, whilst, Jacob Miller, switches from bass to guitar allowing the band to play two different sets in one, much to the surprise and delight of the audience! The songs of The Woolly Bushmen are based around catchy organ and guitar riffs with infectious choruses that sound straight out of the charts of the late 1950's and 1960's. These all original songs give you, the listener/audience, the sense that you've heard them before...only, you haven't unless you've seen The Woolly Bushmen or listened to Tampa, Orlando, St. Louis, and Philadelphia college/independent radio. The sole purpose of The Woolly Bushmen's music is to get people dancing...and it works every time!

Leave your angst at home, nothing heavy or moody here! One reviewer said, "It's like Buddy Holly fronting The Troggs." Or, "Jerry Lee Lewis on crack" that is the unusual and unique mix of 1950's and 1960's at its best.

Over the past seven years, The Woolly Bushmen have played many notable shows with iconic acts like, Southern Culture on the Skids, The Coathangers, The Black Lips, King Khan, Ty Segall, The Beat, The Fleshtones, Schizophonics, Gringo Star, and many more, as well as frequently being invited to play festivals. They currently do routine tours of Europe and the United States.

From the beginning, The Woolly Bushmen have rarely had to hustle for gigs...shortly after they emerged from their garage studio, they were and continue to be asked to play more gigs than they can handle. Both, The Orlando Weekly and The Orlando Music News have voted them Best New Band, Band of the Week, and Best Orlando Release of 2012...you name it. The Woolly Bushmen have repeatedly been invited to play live on multiple radio stations as well as having regular radio airplay.

In July 2011, The Woolly Bushmen released a demo EP entitled, "Here Cometh The Woolly Bushmen" on cassette tape and sold out in less than 2 months! The band's eponymously titled full length CD was released in July 2012 at a live show in Orlando that saw the parking lot filled with fans unable to get in to the packed club, yet, stayed on site because it was the place to be! The CD received great reviews and has sold thousands without any promotion other than gigs! The band's merchandise, t-shirts, bumper stickers and CD's are sold out as soon as a new run is produced. They released a well-received seven-inch record in April of 2013. All three releases have seen airplay on several radio stations on the east coast.

In 2015 The Woolly Bushmen released their first properly yet self-produced LP Sky Bosses on their self run label Chesterwick Records. The group recently released their latest LP Arduino on L.A.'s Pig Baby Records, produced by Rick Miller of Southern Culture On The Skids

The band's third full length, In Shambles will be available on LP, CD and download on May 10th, 2019 via Pig Baby Records. Pre-orders are available HERE

ZIG-ZAGS share lead track "Punk Fucking Metal" from forthcoming album on RidingEasy Records

"Sounds like Kill ‘Em All-era Metallica meets Motorhead but with claustrophobic garage rock production. It’s a real ripper." -- Brooklyn Vegan

"A potent dose of galloping, cartoonishly vicious rock'n'roll -- material previously perfected by bands like Motörhead and Megadeth." -- Pitchfork

"Noisy, aggressive, and raucous music that careens between garage rock and heavy metal like an amusement-park ride." -- Stereogum

L.A. punk-metal trio Zig-Zags announce their fourth album, and debut on RidingEasy Records today, sharing the lead single at Brooklyn Vegan. Hear and share "Punk Fucking Metal" HERE and via YouTube, Bandcamp or Spotify

"Everyone puts photos of Sid Vicious up on Instagram. The other night I watched D.O.A, the documentary about The Sex Pistols' first and only U.S. tour. In it, Sid's a mess, he and his annoying girlfriend. And they're the only ones who get interviewed! Maybe John Lydon and Steve Jones (not to mention the drummer) didn't want to participate. Maybe Nancy made Sid do it. But it whatever the case, I didn't wanna watch it. The rest of the band is crushing! They sound just like the record! As a musician in a touring band, I can't stand Sid Vicious. He's cartoon character with a Swastika shirt, nodding off while everyone else loads the gear. I don't care if it's punk -- you still gotta be able to play."  - J. Maheu, lead vocals and guitar for Zig Zags.

8 years, 7 singles, 3 albums, 3 bass players, 2 drummers and God knows how many shows later - Zig Zags has continually evolved, mutated, transitioned and transformed, rising again and again, like a phoenix emerging from the flame.

The addition of the newest member of our triumvirate - multi-instrumentalist, designated bassist (and longtime Zig Zags sound engineer) Sean Hoffman - recalls those golden moments past, when destiny stepped in...like when Neil Peart joined Rush or Bob Rock teamed up with Metallica.

In short -- the circle is now complete, the cornerstone has been set and the winged serpent rises --once again.

Some say it's luck, but really, it's about patience. A band is like a relationship. You have to know when to push, and when to hold back. You gotta listen and you gotta learn. We look to the masters. Like Henry and Glenn, we've gone from drinking hooch to pumpin' iron. We quit smoking. Two of us are married, for chrissakes! After 2017's brutal European tour, which left us coughing blood and taking names, we sought out Lemmy's Doctor (Feel Good), who diagnosed us with,"Rock'n'roll Pneumonia".  Like Lemmy, we were pushing too hard. And if you push too hard you'll end up in an apartment above The Rainbow Room, playing video poker on Christmas Eve (which is also your birthday)...but that's another story.

The thing is - we ain't dead yet. Every album we record, every song we write - has to be faster, harder and heavier - than the one before. And that's why this new record is all about upping the ante and raises the stakes, and why it marks the dawn of a new day...and a new era.

This album, our first with RidingEasy, was written over the last year. It's reveals our longtime roots, our enduring love (all hail!) to the early punk of our hero(ines) Dead Moon and The Wipers (forever!) but friends, don't be misled...this is a METAL record - of the true blue, headbangin', riff-ridin', no-bullshit - kind.

Listen here - it ain't easy to play guitar and sing at the same time! But the more you focus, the more you get your head in the game, the more you push (yourselves and each other), the better it all gets. And the songs, they thank you for it. They get tougher, wilder and more raw, the more you strip them down.

They'll Never Take Us Alive will be available on LP, CD and download on May 10th, 2019 via RidingEasy Records. Pre-orders are available HERE

Bay Area thrash revivalists HELL FIRE share new track "Warpath" from RidingEasy Records debut

"Lots of thrash bands do their best to sound retro, but Hell Fire manage to sound classic." -- Kerrang!

"Hell Fire rocks harder than Stonehenge with the fury of Motorhead!" -- CvltNation

San Francisco quartet Hell Fire premiere a new track from their forthcoming third album Mania today via CvltNation. Hear and share "Warpath" HERE. (Direct YouTube.)

Kerrang Magazine recently launched title track "Mania" HERE. (Direct YouTube.)

Mania is the band's first proper album on RidingEasy Records, following the label's worldwide reissue of the band's self-released 2017 sophomore breakout Free Again, released on January 18th.

Formed in recent years in San Francisco, though it may seem more likely that they hatched fresh out of a time travel portal from the mid-80s Bay Area thrash scene, Hell Fire have the classic look and sound of modern metal's halcyon days. Hell Fire's sonic assault warmly condenses elements of influences like Angel WitchIron MaidenRainbowExodusMetallicaRiotVirtue and Diamond Head into 10 tracks of headbanging MUYA anthems.

The free-wheelin' creativity and infectious vitality of the 80s Bay Area thrash scene is a moment forever locked in time, but its spirit lives on in the band's galloping guitar picks, soaring harmonies and blistering rhythms. Hell Fire's perfect hybrid of NWOBHM theatrics and American thrash attitude.

"Thematically, everything on the album comes from personal experiences," says vocalist/guitarist Jake Nunn. "From the highs of partying together out here in Oakland, or the nostalgia of being a kid learning Zeppelin on a beat up guitar, to the extreme lows of isolation, personal trauma, and mental illness. Sonically we want our records to sound like you're standing in front of the stage at a show. The power of Marshall stacks in front of your face, drums at your ear level, thunder of the bass and feeling the presence of the room."

Hell Fire achieves just that - and then some - on Mania. The album was recorded in Grass Valley, California at engineer Tim Green's Louder Studios. Having also recorded their previous album Free Again with Green, the sessions proved highly productive for the band since they were already familiar with the setting and able to expand upon ideas they hadn't been able to explore previously.

"We're more excited about Mania then anything we've ever done," Nunn says. "We were able to spend a bit more time arranging the songs and writing from a more personal perspective lyrically. We came out of this recording feeling much more accomplished with our performances and couldn't be more happy for this to be our first release with RidingEasy Records."

Hell Fire began when bass player Herman Bandala moved to San Francisco from Tijuana, Mexico with the hopes of forming a heavy metal band. Herman posted an ad to Craigslist which caught the attention of guitarist Tony Campos. They bonded over a mutual love of 80s thrash and NWOBHM, which was a hard thing to find in the Bay Area scene at the time. The lineup slowly morphed over time, finally solidifying with vocalist Jake Nunn also taking up second guitar duties and drummer Mike Smith joining prior to 2017's Free Again

Mania will be available on LP, CD and download on March 29th, 2019 via RidingEasy Records. Pre-orders are available HERE.

Talkhouse shares Spoony Bard (L.A. Beat Scene meets electronic, jazz & avant-garde hip-hop) single from Old Friends album out in April

"I'm trying to blur the line between rap's grandiosity and De La Soul's parody of it." --  David Nord, Talkhouse

"A dizzying, sometimes disorienting sound that will garner comparisons to Dälek, Flying Lotus, Aphex Twin and others. Ceaseless in its sonic exploration, restless in its vision and tireless in its sense of invention." -- PopMatters

NYC producer and musician spoony bard (lowercase, please) shares the first single today from his forthcoming sophomore album Old Friends via The Talkhouse. The track, "Ego Trippin' Part 99" is inspired by De La Soul's classic "Ego Trippin' Pt. 2" but infused with spoony bard's unique collision of influences. Hear the track and the musician's revealing explanation of its origins via Talkhouse HERE. (Direct Bandcamp and Spotify.)

spoony bard's 2017 debut album dweeb is available to hear & share via BandcampSoundcloud.

Like the video game garbled insult of its namesake, spoony bard is the result of a cultural collision as well as an honest and self-deprecating exploration of life. The hybrid of L.A. beat scene, electronic, jazz and avant-garde takes a fresh approach to musical soul-bearing with compelling sonic textures and introspective lyrics. spoony bard combines hints of Flying Lotus, Dalek, DJ Premier, Herbie Hancock, Aphex Twin and more.

spoony bard is the alter-ego of musician David Nord. Originally a jazz composer/guitarist, Nord's equal interest in hip-hop and electronic sounds brought about an evolution in his work, leading him to merge these styles and explore the possibilities of an alternate musical vocabulary. Old Friends follows Nord’s 2017 debut Dweeb, which was featured by Bandcamp Weekly and received considerable press praise. For this album, Nord took a turn backward.

“It’s titled Old Friends because on a lot of these songs I had old friends in mind,” Nord says. “Old friends also means my old musical friends - guitar playing, some melodies I wrote a long time ago. This album has a lot more live instrumentation on it. There’s still plenty of synths, but I did a lot more playing and less sampling.”

The album opens with a cascade of notes from electric piano, guitar and what sounds like a droning sitar on “Ego Trippin’ Part 99.” It sounds almost like a lost Mahavishnu Orchestra track until sampled voices, syncopated percussion and Nord’s rhymes take over the proceedings. His style of rapping is so conversational and intimate, it almost sounds like it’s a man’s unguarded thoughts being telegraphed to the listener. “Levitate Me Later” is a glitch-funk blast, while “Areia” takes a smoothed-out approach with gliding sung vocals and Giorgio Moroder freakout synth soloing. “Extralewd 1” echoes Aphex Twin’s best sliced’n’diced grooves. Throughout, it’s a delightfully unhinged and explorative album that’s impossibly laid back and frenzied at the same time.

Old Friends will be available for download on April 5th via Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.

"Off-kilter" Canadian trio Tunic stream forthcoming new album early, share new tour dates

"Off f**king kilter but totally on point!" -- CvltNation

"A quick-moving monument to disaffection. Shades of post-hardcore and noise rock come together in the spirit of cooperative aggression." -- The Obelisk

"Their own unique brand of noise rock and hardcore... Eleven tunes of feedback-laden mastery laid over churning blows of drums and bass." -- Pure Grain Audio

Canadian noise rock trio Tunic are streaming their forthcoming album in full today ahead of release via Ghost Cult Magazine. Hear and share the full album, Complexion HERE. (Direct Soundcloud.)

Tunic launches a European tour next week, followed immediately by extensive North American dates in Spring 2019. Please see all dates below.

The band recently premiered the hallucinogenic and oddly disorienting video for "Dry Heave" via The Obelisk HERE. (Direct YouTube.) CvltNation previously launched lead single "Nothing Nothing" HERE. (Direct Bandcamp.) Pure Grain Audio hosted "Blessed" HERE

Tunic is born of spite. After years of touring someone else's bass lines across the globe, David Schellenberg was told he wasn't good enough. So he did the only logical thing: buy a guitar, quit your long-time band, and abandon everything you think you know about music. Armed with no skill and a blissfully ignorant embrace of discordant noise, Schellenberg started crafting songs, quickly enlisting childhood acquaintance Sam Neal on drums and roommate Rory Ellis on bass.

Over the past 4 years and half a dozen DIY releases, Tunic has managed to unleash and tame their unique blend of noise rock and hardcore. Relentless touring has taken them across Canada, Europe and the States, filling clubs, basements, and abandoned prisons with noise. The band released the single Teeth Showing on Toronto's Buzz Records in 2018, which they toured with new drummer Dan Unger.

Tunic's debut album Complexion was recorded in six days in their hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba with Montreal-based engineer and producer Jace Lasek (Suuns, Land of Talk, Wolf Parade). Complexion picks up where previous releases left off; 11 songs of feedback-laden filth laid over churning blows of drum and bass. Harsh verses about hurting those you never meant to hurt; choruses that sever ties where you never thought you had to. This is unconventional hardcore. This is broken indie rock. This is naïve art.

Complexion will be available on LP, CD and download on February 8th, 2018 via Self Sabotage Records (Pre-order at Big Cartel-Self Sabotage).
