SELF Group announces Yardsss & Wrtch package tour, Portland melodic drone maximalists + experimental performance sound/visual artist

"Soaring drone noise and melody as cacophony reminiscent of late-80s/early-90s SWANS, Emeralds and Popul Vuh." -- New Noise Magazine

"A weird mix of Swans, post-rock, and orchestral music. It's not nearly as harsh or abrasive as No Wave or other experimental noise or drone projects, but it definitely has elements from those genres." -- Heavy Blog Is Heavy

SELF Group labelmates Yardsss and Wrtch announce a package tour beginning May 29th in Portland, OR. Yardsss is the ethereal music brainchild of Southerly and Sndtrkr leader Krist Krueger, who will be supporting their recently released Granfalloons album. Wrtch is the work of experimental audio/visual performance artist Ambrosia Bartosekulva who will be previewing her forthcoming Sympathy For The Creator album due n the label this fall. Please see dates below.

Yardsss' Granfalloons 5-track piece is the second in a three part Kurt Vonnegut inspired series following the critically acclaimed Foma, which also became a short film of the same name. Hear and share the full album via Soundcloud / Bandcamp

Granfalloons is performed mostly by Krueger with fellow Southerly member Eli, joined by Sarah Saturday of Gardening, Not Architecture on guest vocals.

Yardsss is the experimental embodiment of recording artist and SELF Group founder Krist Krueger's sonic landscape. Krueger is best known for his work with Southerly, whose 2007 debut Storyteller and the Gossip Columnist was met to national critical acclaim. His label, SELF Group, began a major relaunching in late 2015, with new releases in 2016 from Southerly, King Who, C^VES, Scriptures and more.

Wrtch's Bartosekulva is a multidisciplinary visual artist and musician whose soundscapes become a rabbit hole of hidden meaning. On the upcoming tour, Wrtch will be visualizing their biological body during performance -- using a pulse monitor and data processing to create projected visuals while performing solo vocal and narrative soundscapess. By connecting the biological state of creation to the metaphysical state they enter during, they hope to more fully understand the body’s purpose and function in the actualization of selfhood.
