"Yardsss tends toward the dark and droning and bombastic, with heady, swelling orchestrations. Perhaps because human voices appear so rarely and the music is so evocative, it occasionally brings to mind Emeralds' Does It Look Like I'm Here? It doesn't take many listens to understand that Krueger is breaking boundaries not for the sake of being (or seeming) transgressive, but to make sounds that awaken actual feelings -- uplifting, inspiring emotions." -- Portland Mercury

Portland, OR band Yardsss -- ethereal music brainchild of Southerly and Sndtrkr leader Krist Krueger share the latest in an ongoing series of video singles (also available as MP3 downloads) today via New Noise Magazine. Watch and share "Fight No More Forever" the track inspired by Pacific Northwest Native American spokesperson and symbol of the fight for Native American rights Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce HERE. (Direct YouTube HERE.)

Leading the Nez Perce during the tumultuous period when they were forced to leave their ancestral lands due to settlement, Chief Joseph became a spokesperson and symbol of the fight for Native American rights. Close to 150 years after being asked to leave their homes, Native Americas to this day continue to be neglected and mistreated. "Fight No More" captures this sense of dark dreamlike memory, combining the past and present, taking the viewer on a distorted drive through the valley as Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce once did, in its current landscape.

"Fight No More Forever" is part of a continuing series of video singles by Yardsss over the past two years, the others being "6", "Kristallnacht", "Gratias Agens" and collaborative video singles with Metallic Hiss and Ex Rev, available on the Self Group Youtube page.

Yardsss is the experimental embodiment of recording artist and SELF Group founder Krist Krueger's (Southerly, Sndtrkr) sonic landscape. Krueger is best known for his work with Southerly, whose 2007 debut Storyteller and the Gossip Columnist was met to national critical acclaim.  His label, SELF Group, is set for a major relaunching 2015, with new releases slated from Southerly and new additions to the label, Mothertapes and Themes.
