Seattle/L.A. trio Shotty premiere new track from forthcoming release via Exclaim!

Seattle formed and recent L.A. transplants Shotty premiere a new track from their forthcoming release Little Lady Death today via Exclaim! Hear and share "Magic 8" HERE. (Direct Soundcloud HERE.)

The guitar-squalling anthem "Famous Face" previously launched via Northern Transmissions, available to hear and share HERE. The first single, "Love Mess" was released in September, finding the band adding heavy synths atop their signature guitar based power pop reminiscent of 90s era alternative rock for an altogether new blast of fresh hooks and hummable melody. Hear and share "Love Mess" HERE.

Little Lady Death is the latest batch of catchy cartoony hard-rock tunes from the Los Angeles-based band Shotty. These songs aim to capture vivid videogame nerd-angst imagery, and bottle it up into bite-sized energy driven fuzzy rock n' pop anthems. As a whole, Shotty delivers a level of energy rarely seen in today's smooth, careful, "sonic texture"-obsessed indie music scene. Instead, Shotty plays for our inner children. Teenagers will finally feel validated in their lonesome melodramatic crises and existential conundrums, while fun-loving adults pause mid beer-sip, shocked at the raw fervor and utter likeable-ness that Shotty emanates in rainbow colored wavelengths of punk/synth/I-don't-even-know f***yeah rock. At its core, this music is action packed and easily digested, like opening and fiddling with a brand new Transformers toy, or finding a shiny new holographic Charizard in your latest Pokemon card booster pack.

Shotty formed in Seattle, WA when high school dropout Pat Moon and next door neighbor Miles Frank began playing loud music in the basement. Over the years the amps grew in size and volume, the drum set was decorated with paint and decoupage, and the songs and performance were refined to to an explosive and undeniably mosh-worthy level. In 2013 Shotty relocated to Los Angeles to tap into the heart of the entertainment industry, seeking to push their music to new heights and spread their fantastical creations to the far corners of the world. They've since enlisted the bass/keyboard playing skills of former Floridian and 90's music fanboy Duffey Westlake, recording and releasing new material with producer Norm Block (Plexi, Sweethead) to be released through the indie label Cautionary Tail Records via INgrooves Music Group (part of the Manimal Label Group).

Little Lady Death features original cover artwork by Hanah Nance (Adventure Time, Regular Show) and will be available everywhere on November 6th, 2015.

Ghost Against Ghost (composer Christopher Bono w/ Mars Volta, Mercury Rev mbrs) premiere first track from forthcoming release

Woodstock, NY based Ghost Against Ghost unleashes a preview from the upcoming 17-minute opus, still love EP today via PopMatters. The 5-minute track is an excerpt from the full length track slated for release November 6th via Our Silent Canvas. Hear and share "still love (preview)" HERE. (Direct YouTube HERE, Soundcloud HERE.)

The release beautifully combines the expansive and engaging compositions of frontman Christopher Bono with the thunderous drumming of Thomas Pridgen (The Mars Volta, Trash Talk) and the atmospheric guitars of Anthony Molina (Mercury Rev). Bono draws from his neoclassical background as a composer and producer to create the enveloping soundscape that is Ghost Against Ghost. The still love EP weaves themes of love, heartbreak, and betrayal into a powerful combination of monolithic, synth driven post-rock in the vein of Disintegration era The Cure, with dramatic climaxes a la Vangelis with just a touch of contemporary David Sylvian ambiance.

Slow Season premiere first track from upcoming remixed, remastered debut album via Consequence of Sound

Central California quartet Slow Season announce a revamped version of their 2012 self-titled debut album to be released on RidingEasy Records. The band's unpretentious throwback full length has been remixed and remastered with new artwork for proper release on the same label that issued their popular 2014 sophomore album Mountains. Consequence of Sound premieres the first track "Heavy" today, available to hear and share HERE. (Direct Soundcloud link HERE.)

The completely renewed Slow Season will be released on LP, CD and download on December 4th, 2015.

The band's sound effortlessly nods to greats of the 60s-70s like Led Zeppelin, The Who, Black Sabbath, et al, without sounding like a caricature. Rather, as one can immediately hear, this is hypnotic, heavy, and howling rock 'n' roll that defies both musical and temporal categorization.

The Visalia, CA band -- Daniel Rice (vocals, guitar), David Kent (guitar), Hayden Doyel (bass), and Cody Tarbell (drums) -- scale new heights, while recognising where it all began. Having recorded both of their albums live on reel-to-reel at Tarbell's home studio, the band eschews the digital trappings of music today to give their analog sound its crackling, kinetic energy.

"Working with the limitations of tape really pushed us to play our best," Rice says. "You have to prioritize your ideas. You can't layer too much on there. You also have to nail the takes. You don't get to go back and cut 'n' paste. You have to feel it when you're playing it. When everything comes together, it really shines because we're all playing together on tape."

The hard-touring band most recently shared the stage on Summer 2015's extensive RidingEasy Records Tour with labelmates Mondo Drag and Electric Citizen

Old Man's Will stream entire album via The Obelisk; Share new video via Classic Rock Magazine

“Listening to the unpretentious Swedish four-piece, who capture warm tones in the dark cold of Umeå — a northern town known for being the birthplace of Meshuggah and Refused — they make little attempt to hide their ’70s affinities, their Graveyard influence or their penchant for swinging their way into a memorable hook, but there is a vitality at the core the material that only emphasizes how much the sound of then has become the sound of now.” — The Obelisk

Umea, Sweden's Old Man's Will stream their new album Hard Times -- Troubled Man in its entirety today via The Obelisk. Hear and share the full album HERE. (Direct Soundcloud HERE.)

Classic Rock Magazine also recently premiered the video for lead single "Troubled Man", which is available to watch and share HERE. (Direct YouTube HERE.)

The album track "Easy Rider" recently premiered via Roadburn, available to hear and share HERE. (Direct Soundcloud HERE.) MetalInsider previously shared the single and semi-title track "Troubled Man" HEREHard Times - Troubled Man is available everywhere on LP, CD and download via RidingEasy Records as of October 2nd, 2015.

Real rock ‘n’ roll requires a little bit of mystique, a little bit of swagger, and a little bit of trouble for good measure. Sweden’s Old Man’s Will possesses all three of those ingredients in spades, and they comingle into a wonderfully inebriating aural concoction on the band’s second full-length album, Hard Times - Troubled Man. The quartet -- Benny Åberg [vocals], Klas Holmgren [guitar], Tommy Nilsson [bass], and Gustav Kejving [drums] -- delivers a brash, bluesy, and brilliant opus that’s the perfect soundtrack for all kinds of trouble.

In between drunken late night jam sessions, parties in apartments with instrument-covered walls, a healthy diet of Deep Purple, Free, and Stray Dog, and other assorted mayhem, the boys emerged from Umeå’s underground with their self-titled debut in tow. They embarked on a successful European tour before RidingEasy Records came upon their Soundcloud and offered them a deal to reissue their first offering. In the midst of it all, Old Man’s Will began compiling ideas for what would eventually materialize as Hard Times - Troubled Man, sharing a collective vision.

“It was a step towards a more classic rock sound,” says Klas. “On the first album, we were heavily influenced by a lot of contemporary sounds and bands-something we are moving away from. For Hard Times - Troubled Man, we used old hard rock and blues as a foundation, creating something that’s meant to become the sound of Old Man’s Will.”

The first single “Troubled Man” shucks and jives between a hummable riff and a swinging stomp. “Basically, it’s about being a creative musician today and the life around it,” explains Klas. “Musicians and creative people are unique, and they’re troubled. Sometimes, the more troubled you are, the closer you are to writing that magic An ordinary life just can’t compete. Playing rock music today means big sacrifices and insane amounts of work with barely no return, but we love what we do and we don’t trim our sails to the wind.”

Ultimately, Old Man’s Will do what their idols did. They take the foundation of rock ‘n’ roll and leave an indelible stamp of their own. “We never had the intention of inventing a new genre,” concludes Klas. “We’re not about social media, posing, being ‘hip,’ or playing a certain fuzz or guitar pedal. For us, it’s just about great songs.”
