Space Queen announce US West Coast tour, 3-part vocal harmony based stoner doom trio's new album Nebula out now

Vancouver, BC trio Space Queen announce May 2024 tour dates supporting their new album Nebula today. Please see all tour dates below.

Hear & share their new album Nebula on all DSPs HERE

Space Queen is the stoner rock evolution of power trio Jenna Earle (guitar/vocals), Seah Maister (bass/keys/vocals) and Karli MacIntosh (drums/vocals).

Space Queen takes the signature haunting vocal harmonies of the trio’s former folk project (Sound of the Sun) and sends them soaring over a cosmic canvas of neo-psychedelic rock. Driving beats from MacIntosh provide an anchor for Earle’s heavy distortion and fuzzy 70s-style riffs, while Maister keeps everything grounded on bass, or shoots beyond the stratosphere with spacey synths and intergalactic organ.

The band released their debut EP in 2020 which garnered a ton of favorable press and college radio play, including landing on the Earshot charts. Space Queen was featured on Nardwuar The Human Serviette’s radio show for a month leading up to their EP release. The band has thrived in 2021-2022, opening for bands such as King Buffalo, Blackwater Holylight, The Well, RIP, Spirit Mother, Black Mastiff and The Pack A.D. The band also hit multiple festival stages including Massif Music fest, a headlining slot at Tune it down, Turn it up Festival, Electric Highway, as well as playing virtual editions of Massif (and a compilation vinyl release featuring Space Queen's single “Battle Cry” in lieu of 2021's Massif Festival) and Rock 'n' Roll Pride, and Fallen Fest.

Space Queen’s sophomore EP was released in the Spring of 2023, followed by a cross Canada tour with festival stops at NXNE and Vantopia. Coming in 2024 is a single mixed by Desert Rock legend, Dave Catching. Plenty of additional plans are in the works to be announced for 2024. These next few years are shaping up to be busy ones for the rising band.

MoonKill share "Dead Holiday" single from forthcoming debut album

“Moonkill live somewhere in the world of darkened punk realms where all things Danzig are held sacred…There's something in the band that feels very much like you're driving West on I-10 in an old Cadillac with your hair blowing from beneath your cowboy hat...basically Danzig fronting Clutch.” — Austin Town Hall

"Everything you could possibly want from the darker side of punk." -- New Noise Magazine

Austin band MoonKill share a new single from their forthcoming debut album today via Spill Magazine. Hear/share "Dead Holiday" +2 more HERE. (Or, via Bandcamp and all DSPs.)

New Noise Magazine previously featured lead single "Ranger Danger, Pt. 2" HERE.

MoonKill plays untethered Texas Punk. Inserting ambient spacey sounds & new-wave tension into a punk world that is difficult to pin down.

MoonKill materialized in a T-shirt factory, which doubled as an after-hours practice space, in Austin, TX. The quartet all connected for a random jam session in May 2022. The drummer was the lynchpin in a network of friends, which included a guitarist who lived in a trailer in his driveway at the time. The first session produced their initial song “Long Line to Hell'' and they have been growing their queue of Texas Punk songs ever since.

The band self-produced a 3 song EP, The Kong Sessions, in the loft of their friend’s screen-printing shop. After presenting it to producer/engineer Roky Moon (of American Sharks), he offered to produce their debut album, which was completed in February 2024. They played their first live show in Sept. 2023, to a packed house, and began a relentless live show schedule.

Since then, others have taken notice, including their growing fan base in and around Austin. Their EP gained notice from music critics, including Greg Kot, (Chicago Tribune) who featured “Dead Holiday” on his syndicated show, Sound Opinions.

MoonKill will be available to stream & download on May 24th. Pre-order/pre-save HERE.

Max Boogie Overdrive fire up "Stoned Again" video via The Obelisk, album out now

“Right in line with fellow SoCal tokemeisters Fu Manchu and Nebula, with plenty of hazy Sabbath rifferama and a generally sludgy, laconic approach.”  — Decibel Magazine

"A classic blend of stoner, doom, and boogie rock, reminiscent of Orange Goblin and Motorhead." -- Metal Insider

“An absolute blast of non-stop grooves which will surprise you in many ways.” – Outlaws of The Sun

Los Angeles band Max Boogie Overdrive share the official video for the title track to their debut album Stoned Again today via The Obelisk. Watch/share the very 4/20 appropriate video for "Stoned Again" HERE. (Direct YouTube.)

Hear/share Stoned Again album on DSPs HERE (Direct Bandcamp.)

Decibel Magazine recently shared the album title track HERE. Watch/share the video for "Suffer Sister" on YouTube HERE

Hailing from greater Los Angeles, Max Boogie Overdrive was originally conceived in 2022, as a recording project between guitarist Max Boogie a.k.a. Jim Bacchi (Hittman, Fuzzbubble, The Tikiyaki Orchestra) and Drop Dee a.k.a. Daren Ford (Red Square Black, Ravine, The Generals) as a way to pursue their passion for all things Stoner and Boogie... mammoth guitar riffs, bellowing vocals, and the swagger of early '70s Detroit rock nʼ roll -- dirty, fuzzy, with just a dusting of doom, and whole lotta boogie (not Disco... Heavy Boogie Rock.)

The cyclonic drumming of Tom ʻKnucklesʼ Hernandez (Lords of Altamont, Superbeez) propels the band past the sludge and doom pace, and guitarist Richard ʻRCʼ Clarkʼs guitar adds the necessary beef to the mix, fattening up the tone, and added vocal duties.

Presented here in its full length album glory, the bandʼs debut, Stoned Again serves up a classic blend of all the aforementioned genres in its own unique hybrid. Listeners have drawn comparisons to Orange Goblin, Fu Manchu, even Motorhead... Of course the Sabbath influence is there, but throw in some old Kiss, UFO, Budgie and classic early 80ʼs metal as well... “Stoned Again" focuses on songwriting more than any particular “sound”, so there is a bit more of classic rock structure to the songs, but all heaviness is there, a bit of space-out psychedelia, some epic guitar jams, and of course... riffs o' plenty. Dig it!

Stoned Again is available on CD and download/streaming, released on March 29, 2024.
